After carrying out a study exchange program since last January 2023, a Master’s Program student at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, Ms. Katharina Andres, was sent home by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture UNIB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwi Wahyuni Ganefianti, M.S, Thursday (30/3/2023).

The event for sending off the international student took place at the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, UNIB. Apart from the Dean, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Yansen, and the Head of the Office of Partnerships and International Affairs (KSLI) of UNIB Dr. Ade Sri Wahyuni, and staff.

Ms. Katharina Andres herself is a German student who is currently completing her Master’s Program at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. She participated in a study exchange program at the Faculty of Agriculture UNIB with research activities to complete her thesis on the development of a mixed cropping pattern of oil palm with horticultural crops.

The research was conducted by Ms. Katharina Andres at PT. Agricinal and community plantations around Putri Hijau District, North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province. This research is part of the Sustain Palm Project involving Wageningen University and PT. Agricinal.

“Previously, we also received and facilitated two students from Wageningen University who conducted research for three months in Bengkulu. Most recently, one more student, Ms. Katharina, has also completed her research in Bengkulu and we have sent her home,” said Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of UNIB, Dr. Yansen, while adding that in the future, the study exchange program, both accepting/facilitating foreign students and sending students abroad, will continue to be improved to realize the internationalization of UNIB.
