After having carried out international accreditation by the ACQUIN accreditation institution from Europe, the University of Bengkulu (UNIB) has also continued to intensify cooperation with various international partners to improve the achievement of the institution’s IKU (Key Performance Indicators) and realize the vision of being an international university.

The latest international collaboration implemented by UNIB is to collaborate with the Korean Center Global Network. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by both parties, the Rector of UNIB, Dr. Retno Agustina Ekaputri, S.E, M.Sc and Prof. Dr. Park Gihong, M.A. as the President Director of the Korean Center Global Network, Thursday (7/12/2023).

The MoU will be implemented in various activities carried out by UPT Bahasa in collaboration with the Korean Center Global Network. These activities include opening Korean language classes, consulting on educational scholarships in Korea, and opening an edutrip program to visit and conduct comparative studies on campuses in Korea by students and lecturers.
Moreover, this collaboration can provide opportunities for students, lecturers, and campus employees to collaborate with the Global Future Higher Education Association in Korea which has almost a thousand professors in Korea as members. It also provides opportunities to manage Korea’s UKM (Small and Medium Enterprises) on campus and guides administrators so that the organization can run well and be useful.
“This collaboration with the Korean Center is very relevant to the development of UNIB towards a superior university. Now, in addition to being internationally accredited, institutionally UNIB continues to collaborate with global partners to realize the institution’s vision as a World Class University,” said Rector, Dr. Retno Agustina Ekaputri, while welcoming and expressing gratitude to the Korean Center Global Network for being willing to collaborate with UNIB.

On the other hand, Park Gihong as President Director of the Korean Center Global Network and also a professor from Busan University of Foreign Language Studies expressed his gratitude to all UNIB leaders who have opened up opportunities for cooperation that will later be implemented through the UPT Bahasa. This kind of cooperation, said Park Gihong, was the fourth carried out in Indonesia.
“This is the fourth cooperation that we have carried out in Indonesia. One of them that has gone well is the cooperation with a university in Bali. There are many benefits resulting from this cooperation and hopefully, our cooperation will later produce even more benefits and be more advanced,” he said. [Author: Purna Herawan/Public Relations].
