DEVELOPING international relations and at the same time efforts to improve human resources continue to be intensified by University of Bengkulu through the Office of Partnership and International Affairs (UPT KSLI). In addition to organizing the Student Mobility Program to a number of universities abroad, this year UPT KSLI also sent a number of lecturers and staffs to “study” abroad through the Staff Mobility program.

The seven lecturers and two staffs came from a number of faculties within UNIB who had passed the selection process carried out by UPT KSLI since May 2019. They were Abdul Rahman, Ph.D (FKIP Lecturer) and Estty Oktarina, S.Kom (staff of FMIPA) who carried out the Staff Mobility Program to University Sains Malaysia.

Then, Fachri Eka Saputra, M.Sc and Ferry Tema (Lecturer of Economics ) to the University of Malaya-Malaysia; Hendy Santosa, Ph.D (Lecturer of Electrical Engineering) to the University of Electro-Communication Tokyo – Japan; Dr. Iwan Setiawan (Lecturer of Physics Education ) to the National University of Uzbekistan; Melli Suryanty, M.Pd (Lecturer in the Faculty of Agriculture-Social Sciences) to Tokyo University of Agriculture – Japan; Dr. Nurmeiliasari (Lecturer of Animal Husbandry) and Yudha Prawira, S.E (Staff of Bureau of Planning, Learning and Students) to Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya – Thailand.

The head of UPT KSLI, Yansen, Ph.D explained, for the Staff Mobility Program in 2019, there were already implementing it and there are several more to be dispatched in September and October. “Their departure is separate, in accordance with the Letter of Acceptance of each university destination,” he said.
While at the destination university, activities are carried out for lecturers include teaching, seminars, joint research and internships. Then for staffs, it is in the form of bench-marking and other activities that can improve the performance of academic services at University of Bengkulu .

Until July 2019, four lecturers who have implemented the Staff Mobility Program, are Fachri Eka Saputra and Fery Tema at Malaya University, Iwan Setiawan at the National University of Uzbekistan, and Nurmeiliasari at Rajamanggala University of Technology Srivijaya (Thailand).

“This program has become one of the leading activities that we carry out every year. It is expected that this program can increase the knowledge and insight of lecturers and educators, so that the human resources at UNIB increase and be better, “said Yansen.[Hms1/upt-ksli/eve].
