The ACQUIN Management Team from Germany was warmly welcomed by the dean and deputy deans as well as heads of study programs in eight faculties of UNIB, Monday (14/11/2022). The eight faculties expressed their readiness and were very enthusiastic to carry out the first and largest international accreditation at the University of Bengkulu.

The ACQUIN Management Team that consisted of three people; Dr. Jasmine Rudolph, Robert Raback, and Clemens Bockmann visited UNIB campus to review the building and the readiness of various facilities at UNIB.

“They met university leaders and faculty leaders, then reviewed the building and various facilities, as preparation for the accreditation process by the Experts and the Assessor Team tomorrow, November 15, 2022,” said Secretary for Quality Assurance of LPMPP UNIB Hendy Santosa, S.T., M.T., Ph. D. when accompanying the ACQUIN Management Team.

Arriving at the UNIB rectorate building, the ACQUIN Management Team was warmly welcomed by the University of Bengkulu Rector, Dr. Retno Agustina Ekaputri, S.E., M.Sc. along with the four Vice Rectors of UNIB; Prof. Dr. Mochammad Lutfi Firdaus, S.Si., M.T., Yefriza, S.E, MPPM, Ph.D., Dr. Candra Irawan, S.H., M.Hum. and Prof. Irfan Gustian, S.Si., M.Si.

After discussing in the rector’s office and having lunch together, the ACQUIN Management Team visited the faculties at UNIB one by one, starting with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). Then visited the Dean of the Faculty of Teachers Training and Education, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Faculty of Law.

At the Faculty of Law dean’s office, the ACQUIN Management Team also reviewed the rooms and facilities that they will occupy and use during the accreditation process. The assessment schedule by the ACQUIN Assessors and Expert Team starts from November 15 to 23 2022. Alternately, 69 study programs also one institution at UNIB were accredited and reviewed online by the Experts.

“The ACQUIN Management Team wants to ensure that the facilities and equipment used are available and functioning properly, as this accreditation will be carried out by Experts from various countries online,” said Hendy Santosa, Ph.D.

Based on the data that the Public relations division got, the group of Experts (Expert) which will conduct an assessment of various study programs at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) are Prof. Dr. Stefan Handke (University of Applied Sciences Dresden); Prof.in (FH) Dr.in Johanna M. HefelDSAin (Department of Social Work & Health); Prof. Dr. Carola Richter (FreieUniversitat Berlin); Prof. Dr. Susanne Fengler (Technical University Dortmund); Professor Ali Qadir (Tampere University); and Prof. PhDr. Jaroslav Šušol, Ph.D (Comenius University Bratislava).

Then, the Expert group that will review various study programs at the Faculty of Teachers Training and Education (FKIP) are Prof. Dr. Tibor Gyalog (University of Applied Sciences & Arts Northwestern Switzerland); Prof. Dr. Carl Winsløw (University of Copenhagen); Prof. Dr. Dirk Krüger (Freie Universitaet Berlin); Prof. Dr. Andreas Borowski (University of Potsdam); Prof. Dr. Timm Wilke  (Friedrich-Schiller-Universitat Jena); Prof. Dr. Sebastian Habig (Friedrich-Alexander-Universitat Erlangen-Nurnberg); and Professor Linda Evans (University of Manchester).

Next, the Expert group that will evaluate the Faculty of Agriculture, namely: Christian Andreasen (University of Copenhagen); Prof. Zoe Davies (University of Kent); Prof. Dr. Thomas Dőring (Rhenish Friedrich-Wilhem University Bonn); Prof. Dr. Verena Haberlah-Korr (South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences); Prof. Dr. Christian Herzig (Justus-Liebig University Giessen); Prof. David W Hopkins (SRUC-Scotland’s Rural College); Prof. Dr. Helen Louton (University of Rostock); Prof. Dr. Joachim Müller (University of Hohenheim); Professor Rick Stafford (Bournemouth University); and Professor Timo Tokola (University of Eastern Finland).

Further, the Expert group who will assess the Faculty of Law are Prof. Dr. Mathias Schmoeckel (University of Bonn); and Prof. Dr. Thomas Schomerus (University of Lueneburg). And for reviewers at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) are Prof. Dr. Mike Geppert (Friedrich-Schiller-Universitat Jena); Prof. Dr. Surender Munjal (University of Leeds); Prof. Almas Heshmati (Jőnkőping University); and Prof Dr. Ulrike Stefani (University of Konstanz).

Then for the Faculty of Engineering, there are six Experts, namely: Professor Hans Edin (KTH Royal Institute of Technology); Prof. mag. arch. Wolfgang Grillitsch (University of Applied Sciences Karnten); Professor Kari T. Koskinen (Tampere University); Prof. Dr. Ulrike Lechner (University of the German Federal Armed Forces in Munich); Professor Thomas Asmus Pedersen (University of Southern Denmark); and Professor Dr. Thomas Richter (Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences).

A review of study programs at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) was carried out by 10 Experts, namely: Prof. Dr. Thomas Wirth (Cardiff University); Prof. MAG. Dr. Andreas Futschik (Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria); Prof. Dr. Yarema Okhrin (University of Augsburg); Prof. Dr. Robert Hänsch (University of Braunschweig); Prof. Dr. Stefan Kalkhof (Coburg University); Prof. Dr. Vladimir Shikhman (Chemnitz University of Technology); Prof. Dr. Nicolo de Groot (Radboud-Universitat Nijmegen); Prof. Dr. John Callan (Ulster University); Prof. Dr. Thomas Hauf (Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hannover); and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kainz (University of Vienna).

And only one reviewer for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK), namely Univ-Prof. Dr. Munda Schulze-Tanzil (Paracelsus Medical Private University).

As previously informed, ACQUIN (The Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute) is an association registered with EQAR (European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education). EQAR is an international standard accreditation, certification, and quality assurance institution recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia, as stated in the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 83/P/2020 dated 24 January 2020.
