A very good news as well as a historical moment happened on Tuesday morning (27/6/2023) at UNIB rector’s office. The rector of UNIB, Dr. Retno Agustina Ekaputri, S.E., M.Sc. announced that the results of the international accreditation process by the ACQUIN institution have been issued, and it’s stated that as many as 69 Study Programs had been internationally accredited.


“Alhamdulillah, thanks to Allah, the Almighty God, last night I was contacted by the ACQUIN Head Office in Germany who stated that the results of the international accreditation process that we carried out last November 2022 have came out. The result shows that as many as 69 Study Programs in eight UNIB faculties plus one institutional accreditation have been declared INTERNATIONALLY ACCREDITED, so in total we will receive 70 International Accreditation Certificates from ACQUIN,” said Dr. Retno Agustina in front of all UNIB officials.
The rector intentionally invited all Vice Rectors, Deans, Heads of Bureaus and heads of institutions as well as heads of UNIB’s work units to hold an impromptu meeting in her office, Tuesday morning, so that she can deliver this happy news as well as a historic moment to all UNIB academics who have been waiting for the results of the international accreditation process which was held last November 2022.

The rector of the University of Bengkulu stated that on June 12 2023, she made a visit to Germany and took the time to visit the ACQUIN Headquarters in Bayreuth – Germany, to confirm the results of the international accreditation assessment process for UNIB institutions and 69 study programs at UNIB some time ago.
“My visit was welcomed by the managing director ACQUIN and the results of the UNIB international accreditation assessment were very positive. So, after returning to Indonesia, last night or around the afternoon in Germany, ACQUIN informed me that the UNIB accreditation results had come out. A total of 69 Study Programs plus one institutional accreditation have been declared internationally accredited,” said Dr. Retno Agustina Ekaputri proudly and happily.
The International Accreditation Certificates that have been issued by ACQUIN are for the Faculty of Engineering UNIB which includes 6 Study Programs; Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Architecture and Informatic Systems Study Program.

The accreditation results for UNIB agencies and other study programs will be announced in mid-July – September 2023. Announcement and delivery of accreditation certificates and assessment results files along with recommendations will be carried out electronically and will be submitted directly (offline) by ACQUIN which is planned to be witnessed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.
As previously informed, ACQUIN (The Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute) is an association registered with EQAR (European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education). EQAR is an international standard accreditation, certification and quality assurance institution recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia as stated in the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 83/P/2020 dated 24 January 2020.
ACQUIN aims to accredit bachelor’s and master’s programs in all disciplines and at all types of universities to ensure high-quality degree programs, create market transparency, increase the university’s attractiveness to foreign students and promote comparison of academic degrees. ACQUIN membership consists more than 150 universities in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the United States, Liechtenstein, Egypt, Mongolia, and Lebanon.


For this extraordinary and very encouraging achievement, Dr. Retno Agustina Ekaputri expressed her thankfulness to parties involved, starting from the Vice Rectors, Heads of Bureaus, Deans, heads of institutions and heads of UNIB environmental work units, volunteers, and other parties, who have participated and worked together to make this UNIB international accreditation process successful.
