As many as 41 students of UNIB who passed the International Student Mobility Program selection in 2019 are immediately dispatched abroad to study at networking universities collaborating with UNIB in various countries. The release and final preparation program was held in the Meeting Room of UNIB on Thursday (07/04/2019).

The event was attended by UNIB Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Lizar Alfansi, SE, MBA, PhD; Head of Bureau of Planning, Learning and Student Affairs (PPK), Dra. Proklampiati, MM; Head of Office of Partnerships and International Affairs (UPT KSLI), Yansen, S.Hut, M.App.Sc, Ph.D; Deans and Vice Deans of Student Affairs at UNIB, as well as students who will depart abroad.

Head of UPT KSLI UNIB, Yansen, Ph.D explained, 41 students who passed the International Student Mobility Program selection in 2019 came from 8 faculties, they are from Faculty of Law as many as 2 students, Faculty of Economics and Business as many as 18 students, Faculty of Agriculture as many as 4 students, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences as many as 5 students, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences as many as 5 students, Faculty of Engineering as many as 2 students, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences as many as 2 students, and Teacher Training and Education Faculty as many as 3 students.

The students will carry out Credit Transfer programs, Community Service, Internship, Short-Term Study, Cultural Exchange, and Bootcamp in six countries and nine destination universities. This university is a network of cooperation between UNIB and other countries, namely University of New England – Australia, University of Battambang – Cambodia, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin and Universiti Sains Malaysia – Malaysia, Ming Chi University of Technology – Taiwan, Thaksin University and Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya – Thailand, and Banking University of Chi Minh City – Vietnam.

The time for this activity is planned from July 15th to August 9th, 2019, August 29th to September 20th, 2019, even for students of Credit Transfer program will be held from July to November 2019.

“In addition to dispatching these 41 students, previously we have also carried out the International Student Mobility Program at the beginning of the year. FKIP students participated in the SEA Teacher Exchange to Philippines and FEB and FKIK students carried out Social Entrepreneurship for Economic Development (SEED) at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan,” said Yansen.

Yansen added, the International Student Mobility Program is routinely held every year which aims to increase experience and improve the quality of individual participants, to open opportunities to build international networks for alumni, as well as improve UNIB’s international relations in order to realize UNIB’s vision to become a world-class university.

“Through this activity, students are expected to feel the international academic atmosphere and gain experience interacting with different international cultures, so that it will shape the positive character of better students,” he said.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Lizar Alfansi expressed his appreciation for the International Student Mobility program and congratulated the students who passed the selection and had the opportunity to take part in this program.

“Take good care of yourself, keep the good name of our university and protect the good name of the Nation. Hopefully by participating in this program, you will get many experiences that are useful for the continuity and success of your life going forward, “he said.

The release and preparation program for the departure of International Student Mobility students are interspersed with dance performances created by the participants which will be performed at the destination university. This is in addition to showing the creativity of the students, is also a place to promote regional arts and culture. [hms1].
