In the holy month of Ramadan, Rector of UNIB, Dr. Ridwan Nurazi, SE, M.Sc, CA and Vice Rectors, Heads of Offices and Heads of Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) conducted a safari visit to all faculties to meet the faculty leaders, lecturers, employees and students.
This event is an annual event held every holy month of Ramadan and received enthusiastic welcome by all faculty academic community, because through this moment the lecturers, employees and students can meet face to face and dialogue directly with the leaders of the university.
Safari Ramadan was started on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018 and scheduled to take place every day until Monday, June 4th, 2018. Activities took place in the hall or the main meeting room of each faculty starting at 09.30 pm until 12.00 pm. There are also faculty who chose the afternoon time at 16.00 pm until finished. For the afternoon time, after discussing the event ended with breaking the fast together.
Of the eight faculties at UNIB, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) got the first chance, followed by the Faculty of Engineering (FT). Next was Faculty of Law (FH), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Faculty of Agriculture (FP), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK), and last was Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA). This schedule was tentative and could be changed according to the faculty agreement.
In the discussion and question and answer sessions, also raised many issues and aspirations submitted by lecturers, employees and students. These questions and aspirations are mainly related to academic services such as the construction of laboratories and the establishment of majors, on-line library issues to support the accreditation of study programs. Then the problem of facilities and infrastructure are such as the need for additional air-conditioning in the computer laboratory, the unstable electrical power, internet network problems, number of fans in the study room are not working, also includes complaints of student organizations that are difficult to get a building loan to carry out seminar activities , and so forth.
Some also raised questions about how to optimize the role and function of the laboratory in supporting the quality of learning and accreditation of the study program, then academic problems such as how to synchronize and refine the student data on Database of Dikti, then there is also student organization problem which so often difficult to find funding to deploy national activities.
The various complaints and aspirations raised in the discussion were welcomed and taken seriously by the Rector of UNIB, Dr. Ridwan Nurazi. Then concerning technical matters, the Rector asked Vice Rectors, Head of Offices and Head of UPT to explain it.
