To encourage the realization of becoming a World Class University (WCU) in 2025 stipulated by the The Ministry of Research, Technology, & Higher Education in the UNIB statute, various international cooperation continues to be carried out by the largest State University in Bengkulu. One of them is cooperation with the University of New England (UNE), Australia.
The collaboration between UNIB and UNE has been well established since 2017, which is based on a memorandum of understanding (Memorandum of Understanding) signed by both parties.
The application of the collaboration included the Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Education of UNE, Dr. Zifirdaus Adnan, to UNIB to provide training and workshops related to the publication of international scientific work.
In 2018, the partnership between UNIB and UNE continued and was improved, one of which was applied in the form of international research and publication cooperation activities between Lecturer of FKIP UNIB, Prof. Safnil and UNE lecturers.
Because it was considered to have provided many benefits in developing the quality and capacity of the two institutions, UNIB and UNE agreed to increase the collaboration both in quantity and quality of the programs that would be applied.
Regarding the plan to increase cooperation, on December 3rd, UNIB delegation visited UNE and conducted a number of intensive discussions with Vice Chancellor and other parties at UNE.
UNIB Delegation consisted of Dean of FKIP, Prof. Sudarwan Danim; Dean of FMIPA, Dr. Zul Bahrum Caniago; Dean of FISIP Dr. Aminuddin; Prof. Safnil (FKIP’s Senior Lecturer and Researcher); Dr. Azwandi (FKIP’s Senior Lecturer and Researcher); and Dr. Muhammad Abduh (FEB Lecturer).
The visitation of UNIB delegation was welcomed by Vice Chancellor and other parties from UNE. Then a warm and friendly welcome was also shown by Dr. Zifirdaus Adnan, who some time ago visited UNIB.
In a meeting with the Dean and other representatives of the Faculty of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Education of UNE, there were several things discussed intensively for increasing collaboration between UNE and UNIB.
This collaboration will be enhanced and applied by facilitating the possibility of further study by UNIB lecturers in the UNE Postgraduate Program, research collaboration, increasing journal publications through joint publications or workshop programs, joint seminars and mentoring from UNE.
Then the two parties also discussed the possibility of implementing a staff mobility program from UNE to UNIB, where they could conduct research, provide lectures, workshops and others during the mobility program at UNIB, possibly joint degree, joint project related to empowerment and community service, as well as the possibility of student mobility / exchange program.[Hms/ksli/eve]
