Chief of Office of Research and Community Services (LPPM) of UNIB, Dr. rer. nat. Totok Eka Suharto and several UNIB lecturers and researchers recently visited Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). This activity aimed to improve and develop the cooperation that has been established between the two institutions since April 2018.
Participating in this visit included Dr. Hery Suhartoyo and Ir. Basuki Sigit Priyono, M.Sc from LPPM UNIB, and Dr. Yansen who is the Head of Office of Partnership and International Affairs (KSLI) of UNIB.
UNIB delegation led by Dr. Totok Eka Suharto was well received and full of friendship by Directors and Researchers at Knowledge Transfer Center of USM. Then, the group was also well received and held an intensive meeting with Vice Chancellor (President) of USM, Prof. Asma Ismail.
After discussing a number of plans to improve cooperation programs, the group was also invited and guided to visit various facilities and see directly the activities of science and research development on USM campus.
From these visits and meetings, both parties agreed to increase cooperation in various programs in an effort to improve the quality of research and learning, including through staff and student exchange activities, research collaboration, knowledge transfer programs, joint training and workshops as well as joint projects.
“In 2019 we will enhance collaboration with USM through staff and student exchange programs, knowledge transfer programs and other activities. With this collaboration, it is hoped that it can improve the quality of research, the quality of learning and the quality of graduates, “said Head of KLSI UNIB, Dr. Yansen.
Previously said Yansen, UNIB had sent students to do Job Training at USM, then sent one staff to the staff exchange program. This activity went well and had a positive impact on both parties.
Then, in August 2018, six USM academics led by Prof. Haslan Abu Hassan as Director of Knowledge Center Transfer of USM also visited and held discussions with UNIB researchers.
In this discussion, each party felt it was very important to collaborate on various aspects in the effort to develop science, which is one of the higher education tasks..[Hms1/Ksli/eve]
