ON April 24th of 2018, University of Bengkulu was 36 years old (April 24th of 1982 – April 24th of 2018). The 36th Anniversary of the UNIB has been held successfully yesterday in the Senate Open Plenary Meeting of University of Bengkulu with the agenda of listening to the speech of the rector of UNIB, Plt. Governor of Bengkulu and Scientific Oration of Rector of IPB. On Wednesday (4/25/2018), UNIB held the 84th graduation by graduating 755 graduates of Graduate, Profession, Undergraduate and Vocational Program.
Based on Report of Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of University of Bengkulu, Prof. Dr. Lizar Alfansi, SE, MBA, until the 84th graduation period of April 2018, the total graduates of UNIB are 50,915 people consist of 11 Post Graduate Program (S3), 6,692 Graduate Program (S2), 34,565 Undergraduate Program (S1), 65 Professional Program, and 9,582 Vocational/Diploma Program.
For the graduates of this 84th period, in accordance with Rector Decree Number 1201/UN30/HK/2018 on 25th of April 2018, the number of graduates per faculty, as follows: Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) is 127 graduates, Law Faculty has 66 graduates, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) graduated 226 graduates, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) sent 74 graduates, Faculty of Agriculture (FP) delivered 174 graduates, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) has 38 graduates, and Faculty of Engineering (FT) is 50 graduates.
Based on the level of education, the number of graduates as follows: Post Graduate Program (S3) as many as 2 graduates, Graduate Program (S2) has 121 graduates, Undergraduate Program of Regular (S1) has 580 graduates, Undergraduate Program of Non Regular is 36 graduates, and Vocational/Diploma Program has 16 graduates.
Graduates with Cumlaude Predicate at the 84th graduation of UNIB, there are 10 graduates in Graduate Program (S2) and the best “Cumlaude” predicate is achieved by Yogi Irawan, Master of English Education Program Study, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Concentration of English Education with GPA of 3.86. He is the son of Mr. Ka’in, S.Pd and Ibu Rusiah.
Then for Undergraduate Program (S1), Cumlaude has as many as 45 graduates and pass Cumlaude the best achieved by Khalid Al Walid, Law Science Program Study, Faculty of Law, with GPA of 3.97. He is the son of Mr. Adi Bastian, SH, MH and Mrs. Marina Andriani.
While the youngest graduate on this graduation period is Yeyen Sari (born in Muara Kelingi, 12th of September 1997, currently is 20 years 7 months 12 days old), Physical Education program study, FKIP, son of Mr. Nasir and Ratemawati mother, with GPA of 3.67.
In addition to graduating 755 graduates, at this event Rector of UNIB, Dr. Ridwan Nurazi, SE, M.Sc, CA also received symbolically the Lecturers of UNIB who have completed further study of Doctoral Program (S3). They are Dr. Mas Agus Firmansyah, S.Sos., M.Sc., Specialization of Communication Studies in Padjadjaran University, Bandung. Then, Dr. Yar Johan, S.Pi., M.Si, Specialization of Coastal and Marine Resource Management in IPB, Bogor. Dr. M. Zulkarnain Yuliarso, SP., M.Si, Specialization of Development Counseling in UGM, Yogyakarta. Then Lindung Zalbuin Mase, ST., M. Eng., Ph.D., Specialization of Civil Engineering (Geotechnics), in Chulalongkorn and Kyoto University, Thailand and Japan.
The graduation ceremony took place at Gedung Serba Guna (GSG) at 08.30 WIB until 12.00 WIB, attended by the chairman and members of the university senate, professors, deans, chairmen and members of Dharma Wanitia of UNIB and thousands of invitations from the parents and colleagues of the graduates. Chief of Bengkulu Police, Brig. Pol. Drs. Coki Manurung, SH, M. Hum and a number of partner bank with UNIB and government as well as private agencies throughout the province of Bengkulu also attended the ceremony.
The graduation procession run orderly and smoothly without any significant constraints. The inauguration of the graduates was marked by the removal of the pigtail performed directly by the Rector of UNIB, Dr. Ridwan Nurazi to the graduation representatives and followed simultaneously by all graduates. Next, one by one the graduates were called forward to shake hands and receive congratulations from the Rector as well as receive a diploma from the dean of each faculty.
